Utilizing life's emotions

Ok so crap happens in life.  We all have bad days and sometimes even bad weeks.  Often people will they are not in the mood to do something because of the emotions caused by whatever it is that is going on at the time.

Well, that is the best time to write quite frankly.

Use the emotions pouring out of you.  It will make for incredible things on paper.  Remember when you were a teenager?  Life was so unbearable all the time and everyone was trying ruin your life!  Well as you grew up you realized things could be worse and that people actually had your best intentions at heart.  But that's not the point, the point is what did you do at the time?  You expressed those emotions.  Girls typically wrote in a diary or poetry.  Guys would write poetry or write angry songs.  Emotion poured out into the writing.

I do that same thing in the present.  When I'm angry about my tax preparer messing up my return, I funnel that anger into my writing.  When I'm depressed that life isn't going the way I planned, I write.  I pour my emotions into my chapters and it makes for better action, romance and even tragedy.

Utilize the emotions you have.  We get them for a reason and are lucky to have them.
